Sun News Desk: State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman said the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal may take the form of Cyclone 'Sitrang' on Sunday evening. It is likely to hit Bangladesh coast between Monday night to Tuesday evening. The government is prepared to face with possible cyclones.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief made this remarks on Sunday to reporters at the emergency meeting of the Cyclone.
The state minister said that our preparations have started since the creation of the deep depression. We are in touch with domestic and international forecasting centers. Potentially vulnerable districts have been instructed to prepare in advance.

Enamur Rahman said we have provided 25 tons of rice, 5 lakh taka and dry cakes and biscuits to each district to provide humanitarian aid to the shelters.
He also said that although the extent of 'Sitrang' is more than other cyclones but it will not be very strong.

Enamur Rahman also said that local warning signal number 3 has been issued in the sea ports.
He said the deep depression is now moving towards the north-west. If it does not change direction, it will hit Bhubaneswar and West Bengal in India. It may hit 19 coastal districts over 730 km if it turns northeast. Cyclone winds can range from 90 to 110 km per hour when it hits the coast.

Azizur Rahman, Director of Meteorological Department, said that after taking shape as a cyclone, there is a 90 to 95 percent chance of it's turning towards the northeast. According to all country forecast models, it may hit Bangladesh.
