Five more children have died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 89 new infections have been laboratory-confirmed.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the latest figures in its regular measles bulletin issued on Monday (18 May).
According to the DGHS, 75 people have died from confirmed measles infections nationwide since Mar 15.
Another 389 people have died with suspected measles symptoms during the same period.
Data from the health directorate shows Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of symptomatic deaths with 155 fatalities, followed by Rajshahi Division with 78.
The DGHS said 1,405 patients with measles symptoms sought treatment at hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours.
Of them, 1,187 required hospital admission. Hospitals in Dhaka recorded the highest number of admissions during the reporting period, with 486 symptomatic patients admitted.
Rangpur Division reported the lowest number, with 16 admissions.
The steady rise in infections and child deaths continues to deepen concern among families and health workers as hospitals struggle to cope with the growing influx of patients.
