Self-reporter

Cricketer Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi have pleaded not guilty and sought justice from the court in their own defense in a case filed against them for marrying another woman without divorcing her.

They appeared in the court of Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Zakir Hossain on Monday afternoon and made this demand.

The case was scheduled for defense today. For this reason, cricketer Nasir and Tamima appeared in court. At that time, the plaintiff in the case, Rakib, was also present in the court. Later, the judge read out the charges brought against Nasir and Tamima and the testimony of 10 witnesses. At that time, the judge asked them, "Are you guilty or innocent?" In response, they claimed their innocence and expected justice from the court.

Later, the judge said, "Will you testify in your defense?" Then the defense lawyer told the court that they would testify themselves with a written explanation on the next scheduled date. Later, the court fixed August 11 for the defense witness.

The complaint in the case revealed that Tamima's husband Rakib Hasan filed a case in the court as the plaintiff on February 24, 2021. Then, on September 30 last year, the PBI submitted a report to the court, stating that three people, including Nasir and Tamima, were guilty.
