PM to youths

Work for forming cooperatives

Sun News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday called upon the country's youths to organize activities by uniting the people and forming cooperatives to move the country forward.

She advised the youths to engage in food production such as poultry farming, fish farming and other activities by forming cooperatives instead of chasing jobs.

The premier was addressing a function on the 51st National Cooperatives Day at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) as the chief guest, joining virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban in Dhaka.

Prime Minister said that our youth should come forward. If the youth community can come forward and carry out the activities through cooperatives of the entire village and people, then we can go a long way. Because everyone will have a responsibility.

Sheikh Hasina said although due to the war and Corona, the price of every thing has increased worldwide. All countries are suffering from inflation today, they have to run by using everyone's reserves. We also have to do it and that is for the people of the country.

A total of 9 cooperative societies and one individual were awarded the National Cooperative Award-2021 at the event.

Pointing out that the government has to buy fertilizers, fuel oil and edible oil at high prices, she reiterated his appeal to everyone to be thrifty and save.

Referring to the 100 special economic zones established by the government, the head of government said, you (youth society) can set up food processing factories there, which will not only meet the local demand, but it will also be possible to export abroad.

Sheikh Hasina said she believes that the country can achieve the desired economic success through cooperatives.

The prime minister urged everyone to work together to overcome the crisis created in the country due to the covid-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war as well as sanctions and counter-sanctions.
