Not octopus, merit will be evaluated

Even if the educational institution cannot be opened in Corona situation, the teachers will pass the other class after evaluating the merit of each student. There will be no auto promotion from 8th class to 9th, evaluation will be done in any way. However, the fifth and sixth grades will be decided by the Department of Secondary and Higher Education (Maushi).

The decision was taken at an inter-board meeting on Thursday (September 24).

After the meeting, the chairman of the Inter-Secondary and Higher Secondary Coordinating Board of Education. Ziaul Haque said classes, parliamentary TV classes and online classes would be given priority till March 15 in the case of assessment. However, if the situation is like opening a school, it will be passed in another class through face-to-face assessment. In this case, there is nothing to say about auto promotion. All the teachers know the students. Assess the merit of each student and pass to another class.

The chairmen of the education board sat in the meeting at noon to take decisions on education including HSC examination and opening of schools. Professor P. Ziaul Haque presided over it.

Rabiul Alam, college sub-inspector of the Dhaka Board of Education, said, "The meeting started with a discussion on how to take the HSC exam. The meeting was attended by the chairmen of all the boards. The meeting also discussed how to evaluate the eighth grade students.

HSC and equivalent examinations were supposed to start from April 1. But it has been postponed due to Corona. Although Qawmi Madrasa has been reopened, other educational institutions have holidays till October 3. Meanwhile, the eighth class final examination (JSC and JDC) and the fifth class final examination (PEC and EEC) have been canceled.
