Khulna: An agreement has been signed for the construction of tensile membrane structure on the open roof of Kazi Nazrul Islam Central Library building of Khulna University.

Once completed, the three disciplines of the Institute of Fine Arts on the ground floor of the building will benefit. Apart from academic activities, various exhibitions and seminars-symposiums will be organized here.

This is the first such work on a large open roof in Khulna. The contract price for the construction of 523 sq m open roof tensile membrane structure is Tk 55.69 lakh. The roof of this tensile membrane structure will be constructed at a height of about 50 feet from the ground floor. The construction work is expected to be completed next December.
