Barisal University to be 'Bangabandhu Chair'

Barisal: It has been decided to introduce 'Bangabandhu Chair' in the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Barisal University (BOB).

This chair will be introduced to carry forward research and academic activities on Bangabandhu's life and work, political philosophy, liberation war and socio-economic development of Bangladesh.

The decision was taken unanimously at the 7th meeting of the University Syndicate on Sunday (September 13) at 4 pm. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. Md. Charekul Arefin. At the meeting, a four-member committee was formed to formulate policies for the introduction of Bangabandhu Chair in the university.

University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Committee. Md. Chadekul Arefin convener, Divisional Commissioner. Amitabh Sarkar and Assistant Professor of the Department of Law Supravhat Haldarke Member and Registrar Professor. Md. Muhsin Uddin was made member secretary.

The meeting expressed hope that the activities of 'Bangabandhu Chair' would start in Bobby within the current Mujib year.
