A regular day would have the streets of Jainabazar, the last border area of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur and Mymensingh, to be congested with traffic. Numerous buses could be seen standing in order to pick up commuters.
However, as of Tuesday June 22, the scenario was completely different, as regular salary-men could be seen waiting for buses on a near empty street only consisting of battery-powered auto-rickshaws.

This led to daily bus commuters, looking for a living, to spend an additional fare in taking the auto-rickshaws to help them travel to their respective workplaces.
The usual passengers were seen at every bus stop on the highway including Jaina Bazar, MC, Nayanpur, Master Bari, Bagher Bazar, and Bhabanipur.
This is the result of the 9 day lockdown imposed on Gazipur in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus further towards the capital.
Despite the lockdown, wage earners were forced out of their homes in order to look for a living, due to the fear of being fired from their jobs.
OC of Mauna Highway Police Station Kamal Hossain, has stated that the first day of lockdown saw traffic control on the roads except for a few private and emergency vehicles.
