With the ever-increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the country, the week-long lockdown imposed from July 1, enters in full-force on its 5th day.
While banks and other financial institutions re-opened after 4 days of the lockdown, law enforcement agencies and army troops were seen patrolling the city to ensure strict enforcement of the restrictions.
To further strengthen the restrictions, 211 check-posts and 187 patrol teams are operating nationwide, in an effort to curb the effects of Covid.
550 people were charged on the first day of lockdown on Thursday, 320 were arrested on the second day, and 621 on the third day.
The number of people arrested on the fourth day was a whopping 618 people with 161 people being charged Tk54,450 for breaching government imposed orders.
