Sun News Desk : At least 8 dengue patients died and 2,350 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Thursday.

With the latest death, a total of 1,214 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Thursday.

Currently, 8,232 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 2,472 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 5,760 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,49,543 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,40,097 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
