Sun News Desk : At least 13 dengue patients died and 2,425 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Wednesday.

Dengue has so far claimed at least 1,122 lives this year and nearly 2,31,204 were infected, making this the deadliest year since the first recorded epidemic in 2000.

According to DGHS data, 8,647 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country yesterday morning.

A total of 2,21,435 patients have so far been released from hospitals across the country this year.
