Sun News Desk : At least 10 dengue patients died and 2,660 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Friday.

Dengue has so far claimed at least 1,096 lives this year and nearly 2,26,224 were infected, making this the deadliest year since the first recorded epidemic in 2000.

According to DGHS data, 8,820 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.

A total of 2,16,308 patients have so far been released from hospitals across the country this year.
