Covid in Kushtia : 21 more dead

With Covid-19 keeping a tight grasp on the world even after more than a year, the alarming rate at which the virus is spiking both the caseload and the death toll in Bangladesh has left the country in calamities.

Following that, till Sunday morning, 21 more Covid-19 deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours in Kushtia, marking it as the highest number of daily deaths in the country relating to the virus.

Administrator of Kushtia General Hospital, Dr MA Momen, has reported that 19 have died in the hospital while the other 2 died in the Kumarkhali upazila.

13 of them died as Covid-19 positive while the rest died with the virus’ symptoms.

Dr MA Momen further reported that of the 609 samples tested in the past 24 hours, 193 came out to be positive.

The positivity rate in the district is currently at 31.69%.
