The PM's promise of prosperity amidst pandemic

Amidst the dire state Covid-19 has left the country over the past month, the shortage of vaccines in the country to abate the virus, serves of no help either.

In these trying times, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instilled hope amidst all, mentioning that Bangladesh will be shipping in doses of vaccines for Covid no matter the cost.

She has told the Parliament today that authorities of the country are communicating with vaccine dealers including those in Russia, China, and the United States, and that the government has already collected 1.14 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine from different sources.

The vaccines, which are to be implemented from July onwards, are being arranged to be provided to everyone, starting with students, as a part of the ongoing effort to re-open educational institutes, said the PM.

According to the Prime Minister, Tk14,200 crores have already been slotted in the budget for the expenses related to bringing in the vaccines.

She further mentioned her government being keen on leading both the population and the economy on the road to recovery, promising to take necessary responsibilities for their lives and livelihood and to “stand by the people”.
