The global pandemic that has been plaguing the planet since last year, has not been showing any signs of dying down even after all this time, instead instilling more fear as the dangerous Delta variant of the virus threatens to take over.
Even among inoculation efforts administered by countries all around the world, the global caseload has quickly crossed the 183 million mark, now standing at 183,404,186, with the death toll tallying up-to 3,969,635 as of Sunday July 4.
The US currently takes the cake for having the highest number of deaths (605,493) along with the number of infected people (33,713,729).
This has been followed by Brazil having the second-highest Covid-19 related death toll and the third-highest caseload after the U.S and India.
Meanwhile back on home-grounds, both caseloads and the subsequent deaths are spiking at an alarming rate as the country recorded its highest daily deaths to be at 143 on Thursday July 1.
However, as of late, Bangladesh has received a total of 4.5 million vaccines, comprising of 2.5 million doses of the Moderna vaccine under COVAX alliance, and 2 million Sinopharm vaccines from China. They received it in batches between Friday night and Saturday morning.
The country’s Covid-19 caseload stands at 936,256 with the death toll being 14,912.
