Staff Reporter: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged to write all kinds of case verdicts in English as well as in Bengali so that everyone can understand. The Prime Minister urged to publish it through translators if necessary. He said that even if funds are needed for this, it will be arranged.

The Prime Minister made this statement while inaugurating the Dhaka Chief Judicial Court building through video conference from Ganobhaban on Wednesday (November 4) morning.

The Prime Minister said the literacy rate is increasing. Even then there are many who do not understand the English verdict. That is why I want the verdict of the case to be written in Bengali as well as English. Many are accustomed to writing judgments in English, in which case the English judgments should be translated and published in Bengali by hiring translators and arranging their training if necessary. In this way, the common people seeking justice will know what verdict they got.

The Prime Minister also called upon the Chief Justice who was present at the video conference to take steps for the judiciary to write and publish the verdict in Bangla.

The Prime Minister said the Awami League government is committed not only to ensuring justice but also to establish the rule of law. The government wants to ensure that all people have the right to justice. But after returning to the country in 1971, I did not have the right to seek justice. I went door to door to get justice.

The Prime Minister said, "After coming to power for the first time in 1996, I took the initiative for trial (assassination of Bangabandhu)." But there were obstacles. Although we had a majority in Parliament to repeal the Indemnity Ordinance, it was blocked. The matter was taken to the High Court. Finally, the trial was over, the BNP called a strike on the day of the verdict so that the judge could not go to court. He was also barred from going to court.

On the ceremony, the Prime Minister called upon the judges to be more sincere in resolving the pending cases. The Prime Minister also said that Chief Judicial Magistrate's Buildings are being constructed in 68 districts of the country to reduce litigation in the courts and for the convenience of the candidates.

Regarding the issuance of an ordinance to curb crimes like rape of women and children, the Prime Minister said, "We have made it a law by passing it in the cabinet." It will then be passed as law in Parliament.
