"And summer onions are most likely to be self-sufficient in onions. If we want to be self-sufficient in onions, we have to produce summer onions."

He was speaking online as the chief guest at the 'Summer Onion Field Day' organized by the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) at Kaligangni village in Sadar upazila of Meherpur on Sunday (November 1).

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain and Agriculture Secretary Mesbahul Islam were present as special guests.
