The nation will forever remember the sacrifices of the four national leaders with reverence

Sun News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has paid deep homage to the memory of four national leaders who were killed in jail on November 3, 1975, saying their sacrifices will be remembered by the Bengali nation forever.

She paid homage to the memory of the four leaders in a speech on the 'Jail Murder Day' tomorrow (Tuesday) November 3, adding, "The killing of four national leaders in a solitary confinement cell was a continuation of the assassination of Bangabandhu and his family. Through this heinous murder, the defeated forces of independence, the anti-national clique, erased the name of Awami League from the soil of Bengal forever, destroyed the spirit of the liberation war and tried to deprive the Bengali nation of its leadership.”

Referring to 'November 03 as a disgraceful day in the history of independent Bangladesh, the Prime Minister said, "On this day of the year, he was brutally killed in Dhaka Central Jail. Such barbaric killings inside prisons are unprecedented in the history of the world.”

Sheikh Hasina also said, "The direct and indirect supporters of those conspirators and assassins of '75 have been holding the power of the country in their hands for the next 21 years. The ruling class, sometimes in military garb, sometimes in the guise of democracy, holds power illegally and unconstitutionally. Indemnity Ordinance was issued to protect self-confessed murderers. Rewarded the killers with jobs abroad instead of facing trial and gave many a chance to do politics. Illegal rulers distorted the history of the great liberation war and pushed Bangladesh backwards. ”

The Prime Minister said, "After 21 years, the Awami League took the responsibility of running the state in 1996 and brought the killers of Bangabandhu and four national leaders to justice. The trial for the murder of four national leaders has also been completed. We are conducting the trial of the war criminals as promised to the people, the verdict is being executed.”

She said, “The way to seize power illegally has been blocked by amending the constitution. The anti-independence forces are always conspiring against the country. They have repeatedly attacked the country to disrupt democracy and wipe out pro-independence forces. Following this, on 21 August 2004, the Awami League wanted to assassinate me the Opposition Leader Sheikh Hasina by launching a grenade attack on a rally. The attack killed 22 people, including Awami League leader Ivy Rahman. ”

The Prime Minister said, “His government is determined to establish the rule of law and justice in the country. Any misconduct by anti-independence groups and anti-development and anti-democracy groups must be tackled unitedly. He believes that the people of the country will unite in the spirit of the great war of liberation, face all conspiracies and uphold the rule of law and democracy. ”

Inspired by the spirit of the Great Liberation War, the Prime Minister called upon the people to unite to safeguard this development and democratic continuity of the country and build a golden Bangladesh of hunger-poverty-free and happy-prosperous dream of the father of the nation by devoting itself to the welfare of the country and nation.
