'Norovirus' after Coronavirus

International Desk: After coronavirus, this time there is an outbreak of Norovirus in China. More than 50 children have already been infected in the country's Sichuan province. This news was reported by the Chinese media Global Times. The virus recently broke out in a kindergarten in Jigang City, Sichuan Province, the report said. There have been symptoms of vomiting in children under the influence of Norovirus.

Norovirus is an infectious disease. This causes vomiting and diarrhea. People of any age can be infected with the norovirus and it spreads easily. People infected with norovirus can shed billions of norovirus particles, and just a few virus particles can make other people sick.

A medical study says people infected with the norovirus may experience fatigue, muscle aches, headaches and low-grade fever (less than 101 degrees Celsius), including chills. The symptoms last for about one to two days. Although no long-term problems with this viral infection persist.

According to the Chinese media, citing the Department of Health, epidemic investigations and nucleic acid tests have shown that norepinephrine infections cause nausea. The condition of the affected children remains stable. They are being treated at the hospital for a mild infection, the health department said. However, Norovirus vaccine is not yet available.

According to the report, 65 million people worldwide are infected with the norovirus every year. The virus is spreading in China. In February 2019, Chinese authorities approved a clinical trial of the vaccine against the virus. The development of the vaccine will be possible after four years. Theoretically, the vaccine is 80 to 90 percent resistant, according to Xinhua.
