SAFF winner Razia dies

Sports Desk : Razia Khatun, former national women's team footballer, died of childbirth complications at her resident in Satkhira on Wednesday night.

Razia Sultana is the daughter of Noor Ali Sardar of Laxminathpur village.

Said Mehdi, Kaliganj Upazila Chairman of Satkhira, said that footballer Razia Sultana is the daughter of a poor family. She gave birth to a son at around 10pm yesterday. Later at 3am excessive bleeding started. At one stage, Razia made a stroke. Later she died around 4am on the way to Kaliganj Hospital.

Meanwhile, Razia took part in Bangladesh squad that won SAFF Under-18 Women's Championship in Bhutan in 2018.

She also played the final round of the AFC Under-16 Women's Championship in Thailand in 2017.
