PM to visit cyclone-hit areas

Staff reporter : Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit the cyclone-affected areas in Patuakhali to inspect the overall situation on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner of the district Md Nur Kutubul Alam confirmed the matter on Tuesday .

The Deputy Commissioner said that the Prime Minister will visit Patuakhali on May 30. We are working on the PM’s visit.

He also said as many as 327,000 people have been affected by the cyclone in the district. A total of 235 houses have been destroyed completely while 1,865 houses damaged partially in the cyclone. Besides the agriculture sector suffered a loss of Tk 26.21 crore. The loss of the fishery sector is Tk 28.69 crore.
