FIFA reveals match-venue

Sports Desk: The next FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted by three countries Canada, Mexico and the United States. This World Cup will be with several innovations. There will be 104 matches among 48 teams in the tournament.

FIFA has revealed today the venue and schedule for the entire tournament, including the opening and final matches of the upcoming World Cup.

FIFA announced the schedule and venues for the various rounds of matches in a broadcast live on TV. Where FIFA President Gianni Infantino was also present. According to FIFA, the opening match of the World Cup will be held at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico on June 11, 2026. The final will be held on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The group stage of the World Cup will run from June 11 to 27. The last 32 matches will be played from June 29 to July 3. Apart from Mexico's Guadalajara and USA's Philadelphia, the remaining 14 venues will be the matches of this round. There will be two matches in this round in Los Angeles and Dallas.

Later, the last 16 round will be played from 4th to 7th July. The quarterfinals will take place from July 9 to 11, with four matches taking place in Los Angeles, Kansas City, Miami and Boston. The two semifinals will be held in Dallas and Atlanta on July 14 and 15 respectively. The third place match will be held in Miami on July 18. And the title fight will be held in New Jersey on July 19.

In the last World Cup, the number of matches was 64 with the participation of 32 teams. This time there will be 104 matches in the tournament of 48 teams. Hosts Canada will play their opening match in Toronto, while hosts USA have their first match in Los Angeles. The matches will be held at 16 venues in three countries.
