AUAB felicitates Minister of State for Commerce

Own Correspondent: Ahsanul Islam Titu, MP, newly elected Member of Parliament from Tangail-6 Constituency has taken charge of the State Minister of Commerce in the government formed after the 12th Parliament Election.

Assumption University Alumni Association of Bangladesh (AUAAB) organized a reception on January 31 at Sheraton Dhaka, located in Banani of the capital, to celebrate the outstanding achievement of its former students.

Makawadi Sumitmore, Thai Ambassador to Bangladesh, was the special guest on the occasion.

UAAB President Saeed Hasan, Vice President Aria Islam Ari, General Secretary Zara Zabeen Mahbub and Treasurer Munajzir Shehmat Karim and other members and organizers were present.

On the occasion, the Minister of State for Commerce said, I feel really honored. Time has passed so quickly since taking on this new responsibility that today was the first time I had time to laugh, have some good moments.

ABC (Assumption University) means something special to me! ABAC has taught us honesty and fairness throughout our academic years.

Today we see where honesty can take us. I have been able to reach where I am today because of the education I received from my educational institution, friends and family.

AUAB Executive Committee President Saeed Hasan said, thank you all for participating in this special event. I have known my friend Titu for the past 46 years, starting from school and graduating from ABC.

As a person he is very humble and humble. Today we are proud of him. We are hopeful that he will be able to contribute significantly to the economy of our country with his knowledge and skills. We wish him all the success.

Thai Ambassador to Bangladesh Makawadi Sumitmore said, I am very happy to attend this event. My heartiest congratulations to State Minister Titu.

We are confident that he will handle all the challenges efficiently. I see a prosperous future for Thailand-Bangladesh relations.

We are hopeful that the newly appointed state minister will play an important role in strengthening the cooperation between these two countries. The Royal Thai Embassy will support this cooperation.

Ahsanul Islam graduated from Titu Assumption University with 'Magna cum Laude'. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from there. He then completed his MBA from Pittsburgh State University, USA.

In his professional life, he played a significant role in the financial sector as the Managing Director of Mona Financial Consultancy and Securities Limited.

Besides, he served as President of Dhaka Stock Exchange, Founder President of DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh and Vice-President of Bangladesh Insurance Association. Now, as the new Minister of State for Commerce, he has been tasked with keeping commodity prices within reach.

Incidentally, Assumption University Alumni Association of Bangladesh (AUAAB) connects graduates and students of Assumption University of Thailand through business communication and collaboration.

AUAB has become a dynamic platform for career counseling and strategic partnerships in business, hospitality, tourism and healthcare.

The association is committed to working together with the Thai Embassy in Bangladesh to develop bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Thailand with emphasis on education, trade, hospitality, tourism and healthcare sectors.
