Staff reporter : The government fixed the prices of dates for the holy month of Ramadan.

The price of low grade dates at Tk 150 to Tk 165 per kilogram, as per a notification of the Commerce Ministry.
Prices of Zahidi dates, the widely-consumed variety, would be Tk 170-Tk 180 per kg.

In early February, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) slashed the import duty on dates to 15 percent from 25 percent to encourage traders to cut the price and enable consumers to buy the item at low rates.
