I have many proofs of the great talent of our doctors.

He stated this at the induction ceremony of residents admitted to MD-MS phase at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Saturday (March 9) morning.

The health minister said, we brought doctors from Hungary and operated on a pair of children. I saw that when the children were given anesthesia, the doctors in Hungary could not, only the doctors in Bangladesh could. So I believe our doctors are not less than any other country.

He also said, those who are sitting here in front of me today, I will say something to them. Let us take the dignity of doctors to such a place that the people of this country bow their heads when they see doctors. In this case, the main task is to patiently listen to patients, patiently serve them.

Dr. Samant Lal Sen said that doctors are the real backbone of the future. Doctor-patient relationship depends on many things. It doesn't just depend on the doctor. Good medical care in a hospital depends on everyone including the hospital director, nurses, wardboys and cleaners. It is the concerted efforts of all that enhance the reputation of medical care.

The health minister said, we will go to the hospital on time. I will devote myself to the service of common people. Our common people don't want much, they are happy just to talk with their hands, to exchange pleasantries.

He said, patients usually rely on doctors as helpless to get rid of the disease. In many cases a doctor has to take the father's place. Doctors can create a rapport with the patient if they want to. This increases patient confidence and provides better treatment.

Dr. Samant Lal Sen also said that a large population of our country is semi-educated or illiterate. When someone is suffering from a disease, the doctor should inform the patient about their capabilities and limitations considering the social status and provide healthcare to the patient accordingly.

The minister added that good behavior is to distinguish between right and wrong and genuine and fake. I should treat others as I expect others to treat me. Morality is to always call justice justice, white to white and black to black. Immorality is the complete opposite of morality. Lack of morals hinders the progress of the country and nation, prevents the worthy people from reaching the right place and the flourishing of the unworthy. The deserving suffer degradation and chaos ensues in the country.
