19 dengue patients die

Sun News Desk : At least 19 dengue patients died and 3,033 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Monday.

The death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 928 this year and nearly 1,90,758 were infected, making this the deadliest year since the first recorded epidemic in 2000.

DGHS data said 10,147 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country yesterday morning.
A total of 1,79,683 patients have so far been released from hospitals across the country this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019. Also, it recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
