Four dengue patients die

Sun News Desk : At least 4 dengue patients died and 2,153 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release on Friday.

At least four more people died from dengue in 24 hours preceding 8:00am today as the country grapples with a record outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease.

Dengue has so far claimed at least 879 lives this year and nearly 1,81,852 were infected, making this the deadliest year since the first recorded epidemic in 2000.

According to DGHS data, 10,071 dengue patients were undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country yesterday morning.

A total of 1,70,902 patients have so far been released from hospitals across the country this year.
