Youth shot dead in border

Sun News Desk : A Bangladeshi youth shot dead by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Bichanakandi border of in Sylhet on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Kawser Ahmed, 26, son of Ruson Mia, a resident of South Bogaiya village under Rustampur union in the upazila.

Altaf Hossain, Bichanakandi border outpost commander subeder, saidg that Kawser was involved in smuggling of sugar from India. On Friday night, when he tried to sneak across the border to smuggle sugar, BSF fired bullets on him. He died on the spot.

Being informed, the family members of the deceased took the body from the spot, he said.

Besides, a team of police from Gowainghat Police Station visited the spot and legal action would be taken in this regard, the commander added.
