Sun News Desk : One person was killed and others 7 were injured after a passenger train derailed at Bhawal Railway Station in Gazipur early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Aslam, 35, a poultry businessman from Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh.
Hanif Ali, Joydebpur Railway Station Master, said seven carriages of a Dhaka-bound 'Mohonganj Express' train derailed at Joydebpur station at an early hours.

After the accident, train communication between Joydebpur and Mymensingh remained suspended. The injured were admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.
Gazipur deputy commissioner Abul Fateh Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said the accident occurred as the miscreants cut off the rail tracks with gas cutters any time at night.
