UK wants to support Bangladesh

Sun News Desk : Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali said Britain wants to support Bangladesh in dealing with its economic challenges.

The Finance Minister ‍said to the reporters at his office at Bangladesh Secretariat today after British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke met him.

The finance minister said that we have a long-standing relationship with UK. As they have been working with us for a long time. They understand the situation in Bangladesh. They have experience in this regard.

In response to the question that in which economic field of cooperation will be available, the minister said they want to help us in some sectors which cannot be said now. These are being discussed.

In response to the question as Bangladesh is facing an economic challenge, whether there has sought any assistance or not, the finance minister said, yes, that is the case. We want help and they said we see what can be done.

British High Commissioner said we had a very good discussion. How the UK and Bangladesh can work together economically. We have supported to build Sustainable Bangladesh. We are with them in the LDC graduation of Bangladesh. Because we are always with them in building developing countries.
