Sun News Desk : Two friends drowned while bathing in Gunadhar haor at Karimganj upazila of Kishoreganj on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Sharfuddin Rafu, 24, son of Kamal Uddin, hailed from Maizdi upazila of Noakhali district and Limon Islam, 23, son of Lal Miah, from Patuakhali district.

Karimganj Police Station officer-in-charge Md Shamsul Alam Siddique said Rafu and Limon came to attend in the wedding programme of their friend Tauqir Ahmed, son of Saifuddin at Madan village of Gunadhar union.

On Tuesday noon, Tauqir along with his five friends went down to Gunadhar haor to take bath after finishing a football match in Maizhati village under the same union where Rafu, Limon, and Tauqir drowned around 12 pm.

Realizing the incident, locals rescued and took them to Kishoreganj Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Rafu and Limon dead while Tauqir is undergoing treatment at Kishoreganj Sadar Modern Hospital.
