International Desk: Rishi Sunak, the leader of the Conservative Party, has officially taken over as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The BBC reported that Rishi met King Charles III in Room 1844 of Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. He was then invited by the king to take over as prime minister. Accepting the invitation of the king, he assumed the responsibility of the prime minister.
Earlier, as per the rules, Liz Truss met with King Charles III and submitted her resignation letter. King Charles accepted her resignation. After that Rishi Sunak came to Buckingham Palace.

Liz Truss met the monarch this morning to tender her resignation as Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury, Buckingham Palace said in a statement. The king accepted with sincerity.
Before entering the British Prime Minister's office and residence at Ten Downing Street, Rishi Sunak will address it.
