Recruitment in Malaysia Starts in January

Staff report: The labor market in Malaysia has opened for Bangladeshis after a long time. The government has already signed an agreement with Bangladesh.

Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed hopes that recruitment in Malaysia will start by next January.

The minister said workers would be sent through the Manpower Employment and Training Bureau (BMET) database. Staff can go there at a minimal cost. He also advised not to do any financial transaction with anyone regarding going to Malaysia.

He made the remarks at a press briefing at the conference room of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment in the capital's Eskaton on Tuesday (December 21st).

The Minister returned to Malaysia after signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Recruitment of Staff. Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment read a written statement at the press conference Dr. Ahmed Munirush Salehin.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on December 19 regarding the recruitment of staff. The agreement was signed by Minister Imran Ahmed on behalf of Bangladesh and M Saravanan, Minister of Human Resources on behalf of Malaysia. As a result of this agreement, after being closed for almost three years, the Malaysian labor market reopened for Bangladeshis.

Incidentally, on December 10, Malaysia announced to take workers from Bangladesh. Earlier, the country's cabinet approved the hiring of Bangladeshi workers in all sectors. Malaysia will hire Bangladeshi workers, especially in the domestic, horticultural, agricultural, manufacturing, services, mining and quarrying and construction sectors.
