Maidul Islam, the public relations officer of the health ministry, said this in an emergency message on Sunday (March 21).

In an emergency message, he mentioned that a fake statement of health secretary Abdul Mannan on 7-day general holiday is being aired on the scroll of some television channels.The Health Ministry requested all media outlets to remove the news reports and TV scrolls.

Asked about this, Maidul Islam Pradhan told that the news of the public holiday being spread in various media quoting the Secretary is completely fake, he did not make any such statement.

Amid the rising trend of Covid-19 infections and deaths across the country, some media outlets aired news on possible 7-day public holidays.
