Staff Correspondent: Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek has said that government will fix the fees for healthcare services in the private hospitals.in a bid to reduce harassment, the government will soon fix fees, which will be fixed according to their standard of service, he added.
Health Minister Zahid Malek came upwith the remark while addressing a meeting on the integration of private sector in medical services in the conference room of the Ministry of Health at the Secretariat on Sunday (February 28) morning.
At that time, he said, 'Clinics are sprouting like mushrooms everywhere, even some of them don't have adequate medical equipment. And the expenditure is increasing to get medical services. But the government health care is provided free of cost.'
He said the government has taken initiative to fix the fees considering the standard of the hospital. He said effective steps would be taken in this regard soon after holding a meeting with the private medical representatives of the country.
Secretary of the Department of Health Services was also present at the meeting chaired by the Minister. Abdul Mannan, Director General of the Department of Health. ABM Khurshid Alam, President of Bangladesh Private Medical Association Mubin Khan and representatives of various private medical hospitals in the country joined the meeting.
