PM inaugurates 100 bridges

Sun News Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday inaugurated 100 newly bridges across the country.

In the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said that we have built the Padma Bridge with our own funds. It is a great pride for us. We announced Vision 2021 for the development of Bangladesh.

She also said that we have done digital Bangladesh today. Where there were no mobile network in Chittagong Hill Tracts, I did it. For this, we can inaugurate 100 bridges today by joining different districts.

The total length of the bridges is 5,494 meters and the construction cost is Tk 8,79.61 crore . Of them, there are 45 bridges in Chittagong division, 17 in Sylhet division, 14 in Barisal division, six in Mymensingh, five each in Gopalganj, Rajshahi and Rangpur, two in Dhaka and one in Comilla.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader spoke at the function moderated by PM's Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus.

Road Transport and Highways Department Secretary ABM Amin Ullah Noori gave details about the bridges. A documentary on the bridges was showed at the event.
