NSU student killed in road accident

Sun News Desk : A female student of a private university was killed after a covered van hit the motorcycle at Lalbagh Beribadh area in capital on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Sanjida Akter Tamanna, 27, the last year student of North South University.

The student was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where she was declared dead on arrival.

MM Morshed, Lalbagh Police Station OC, said Tamanna was returning her Kamrangirchar residence via Lalbagh by a Pathao motorcycle, a ride sharing bike. When it reached Lalbagh Beribadh area around 10:30pm, the covered van hit the vehicle and Tamanna fell on the ground from the bike. At that time, the covered van ran over Tamanna, said Lalbagh Police Station OC MM Morshed.

Police detained three persons including the covered van driver and Pathao driver and seized the covered van.
