Following the tragic blast at Shawarma House in the capital’s Moghbazar area, that has greatly ruined buildings in the vicinity of the blast and left 7 people dead, injuring more than 66, investigations have begun over the cause of the explosion.
Police officers have already pressed charges against unidentified individuals for causing death by negligence over the explosion that ripped through building near Moghbazar Wireless Gate.
The case was lodged by Sub-Inspector Rezzaul Karim under Section 304(A) of the Penal Code on Tuesday June 29.
Whoever charged under this section of the Penal Code shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both, considering they have caused the death of any person by partaking in any rash or negligent act.
Ramna Model Police Station OC Monirul Islam has stated that the unknown offenders could be anyone ranging from the owner of the building to the utility services people.
Both Police Headquarters and the Fire Service and Civil Defence have formed committees from members who are to work together in further investigation of the case, both having a week to report of their findings.
