Five polling centres fired

Sun News Desk : Miscreants gave fire four polling centers in three upazilas of Rajshahi early Friday ahead of the national elections.

The centers are Jutanshi Government Primary School and Arani Jhina Government Primary School in Bagha upazila, Motihar High School in Mohanpur and Akkelpur High School in Bagmara.

Mojibor Rahman, the headmaster of Motihar High School, said the miscreants fired a classroom and several benches and tables were burned in the fire.

Orbind Sarker, Bagmara Police Station officer in-charge, said miscreants set Akkelpur High School on fire and later, locals brought the fire under control.

He also said two unexploded cocktails were found in front of the voting center.

Rafiqul Islam, Additional Police Superintendent, said they started looking into the incidents and legal actions will be taken after investigation.
