China-India-Pakistan will hold joint anti-terrorism exercises

International Desk: The member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will hold a joint anti-terrorism exercise this year. India, Pakistan, China and other members will take part in the exercise named "Pabbi-Antiterror-2021."

The decision was taken at the 36th meeting of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on the 18th of this month. At the same time, the meeting also discussed the fight against terrorism and separatism.

According to the Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency, the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will work together to identify and suppress militant and terrorist groups.

Representatives from India, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and RAT attended the meeting. Terrorism was the main topic of discussion at the meeting. The headquarters of the RATs is in Tashkent. RATS is a permanent organ of the SCO which serves to promote cooperation of member states against terrorism, separatism and extremism.The main task of this organization is to cooperate with the member countries in the fight against terrorism and separatism.

On the other hand, the Shanghai Co-operation Organization is an economic and security bloc. On June 9, 2017, India and Pakistan became full members of the bloc. The founding countries are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
