International Desk: Italy's hard-right politician Giorgia Meloni has been sworn in as Italy's first female prime minister. He took oath along with the cabinet members on Saturday. And, Italy got the most right-wing government after the World War II.

Meloni, head of the nationalist political party Brothers of Italy, won last month's national election in an alliance with former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia and Matteo Salvini's League.
"I swear allegiance to the Republic," Meloni said before shaking hands with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

Meloni was sworn in on Saturday as Italy's 12th head of government this century and 68th since World War II. Meloni's government will replace the administration of national unity led by Mario Draghi, former head of the European Central Bank.
However, it is believed that this government is going to face some serious challenges of the formation of a united front around the recession, rising energy prices and the war in Ukraine.

Meloni has pledged support for Ukraine, but his coalition partner Berlusconi is taking a different tack. Earlier this week, she blamed Kiev for the war in Ukraine. Berlusconi also exchanged 'gifts' and 'dazzling letters' with his old friend Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Political tension and rounds of behind-the-scenes talks, Meloni released the list of cabinet members on Friday. He reserved 9 cabinet posts for his own party and gave five ministries each to junior alliance partners League and Forza Italia.

Besides, there are 24 technocrat members in the cabinet. Out of them only 6 women got a place.
