Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit the United States in September to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) where Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman has already been elected as President of the 81st UNGA session. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will deliver his address under his presidency.
Diplomatic and party sources indicate the Prime Minister is likely to arrive in New York on September 21. Alongside attending the assembly, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with several heads of state and government. He is scheduled to address the General Assembly on September 24.
According to US BNP leaders, a civic reception will be hosted for the Prime Minister in New York on September 25 following his UN engagements. He is then likely to visit San Francisco from September 26 to 28 to attend a special event.
Preparations are already underway in California for the Prime Minister's arrival. The San Francisco Bay Area, a hub for technology and innovation, is home to numerous Bangladeshi entrepreneurs and tech professionals. The visit aims to engage them in the country's economic progress and development.
