AL candidate’s hacked to death

Sun News Desk : A supporter of the ruling Awami League candidate Mrinal Kanti Das of Munshiganj-3 constituency has been hacked to death allegedly by the followers of independent candidate Md Faisal Biplob in front of a polling centre at Tangore area in Munshiganj on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Zillur Rahman, 40, of Noighigirpathar area in the district.

Additional members of BGB and police have been deployed in the area to avert further untoward situation.

Returning Officer Md Abu Jafar Ripon and Police Superintendent Mohammad Aslam Khan visited the spot.

The family of the deceased allegedly said that the supporters of independent candidate of scissor symbol Faisal Biplab hacked and beat him to death.

Zillur’s wife Rehana Begum said some people led by former mayor of Mirkadim municipality Md Shahidul Islam Shahin and councilor Md Liton surrounded him and hacked and beat him to death.
