JnU student killed

Sun News Desk : A student of Jagannath University (JnU) was killed in a bike accident in Munshiganj on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Abhijeet Halder Avi, a student of the university's Department of Biochemistry and Anthropology and also a general secretary of Pirojpur District Student Welfare Association in the University.

Meanwhile, the injured Anonna Halder Antu, a student of Institute of Education and Research (IER) Department in the university is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Prof Dr Mostofa Kamal, proctor of the university, said that the duo faced the tragic accident while they were heading towards Mawa Ghat. Abhi died on the spot and Antu was taken to DMCH after the accident.

"Police handed over the body of Abhi to the university authority after finishig legal procedures and legal action is underway in this regard," added Mostofa Kamal.
