Sun News Desk : Adv Shahjahan Miah, lawmaker from Patuakhali-1 constituency, passed away on Saturday morning. He was 85.

He breathed his last at about 6am while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in Dhaka. His son Adv Arifuzzaman, municipal Awami League general secretary, confirmed the death matter.

He left behind wife, three sons, one daughter and hosts of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

Shahjahan was born on January 17, 1940. He served as Patuakhali district unit AL president from 1991 to 2019.

He was elected lawmaker three times in 1996, 2008 and 2018 with the boat symbol.
