News Desk: Voting for the second phase of Union Parishad (UP) elections has ended across the country. The counting of votes is going on now.
Voting begins at 8 am on Thursday (November 11) in 835 unions across the country. Voting ends at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, at least six people have been killed in election violence across the country. Hundreds were injured.
The dead included three in Narsingdi, one in Cox's Bazar, one in Chittagong and one in Comilla.
The Election Commission had said in a press conference on September 29 that the second phase would be held in 848 unions. A union was later dropped from the schedule. And the election of seven unions was postponed due to various complications. In the remaining five constituencies, 835 unions voted in favor of unopposed representatives.
