Sun News Desk: At least 6 people were killed as an ambulance hits a truck at Zajira upazila in Shariatpur on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Jahanara Begum, 55, a patient, her daughter Lutfun Nahar Lima, 30, ambulance driver Jilani, 28, his helper Rabiul Islam, 26, health worker Fajle Rabbi, 28 and journalist Masud Rana, 30.
Police said the ambulance was coming to Dhaka from Barishal with a patient and her relatives. When the vehicle reached near the toll plaza of Padma Bridge at Zajira, it lost control and hit the truck from behind around 4am. At that time, six people died on the spot.

Suruj Miah, Sub Inspector of Padma Bridge South Police Station, said two women were on the ambulance. The deceased were first sent to Zajira Upazila Health Complex and then to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
