5 killed as train hits auto-rickshaw

Sun News Desk: At least 5 people were killed and five others injured as a train hit an auto-rickshaw at Tarakandi-Bangabandhu bridge rail line at Depakandi area in Tangail on Wednesday.

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The injured people have been sent to Upazila Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Faridul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhuanapur Thana Police, has confirmed the truth of the incident.

Muhammad Faridul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bhuapur Police Station, said two people of the auto-rickshaw were died on the spot after the train hit the vehicle. Later, the injured were sent to the hospital where the child died.
