4 die of alcohol poisoning

Sun News Desk: Four people have died from alcohol poisoning at Kuliar Char upazila in Kishoreganj district.

The deceased were identified as Awami League leaders Gias Uddin, and Jahir Rayhan, Gabinda Bishwas and Dilu Miah.

Gias Uddin was upazila AL organising secretary.

Locals said the deceased started vomiting on Sunday night after returning their homes taking liquor from a shop.

They were, later, admitted to a local hospitals. But, the four died one after another on Monday morning.

Yashir Mia, Kuliarchar Upazila Parishad Chairman, said that four people died due to alcohol poisoning. Kulichar Municipal Panel Mayor Habibur Rahman Habib is on life support at Dhaka Medical.

Mohammad Golam Mostafa, Kuliarchar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC), said the cause of death can be said by investigating their medical reports.
