5 killed in Jashore road crash

Sun News Desk: At least 5 people were killed as a covered van crashed into roadside shops in Manirampur upazila of Jashore on Friday.

The deceased are, two were identified as Habibur Rahman, 45, a resident of Bagaritila area, and his son Tawshid Hossain, 7.

Locals said a covered van ploughed into at least 10 roadside shops, including a hotel, in Bagaritila area around 8 am as its driver lost control over steering, leaving five dead.

Sheikh Md Moniruzzaman, Manirampur Police Station officer in-charge, told the covered van veered off the road and crashed into at least 10 shops, leaving five people, including a man and his son, dead.
